Discover the Kauri Museum and Forests - Hokianga - Bay of Islands - Cape Reinga
Day 1. Monday. AUCKLAND - KAURI MUSEUM AND FORESTS - BAY OF ISLANDS
Depart Auckland 7.30am. Drive north over the harbour Bridge and along the Hibiscus Coast to the Otamatea Kauri and Early Settlers Museum, one of the best little museums in New Zealand. Learn of the importance of the kauri tree to the development of Northland and see the lifestyle of the early settlers.
Continue through Ruawai 'kumara capital' of New Zealand, and Dargaville into the Waipoua kauri forest. Visit "Tane Mahuta" giant kauri tree - some 2000 years old. Enjoy the views of the Hokianga Harbour and sand dunes before arriving in the Bay of Islands.
Visit the Waitangi Treaty House where the Treaty of Waitangi between Maori and the British Government was signed in 1840 and see the giant war canoe. Accommodation for 2 nights at

Day 2. Tuesday. CAPE REINGA (BL)
You will be picked up by Fullers special coach for a full day excursion north through historic Keri Keri and the Puketi forest plus the beautiful Mangonui Harbour and Coopers Beach to Cape Reinga at the top of New Zealand.
Travel part way on the sands of Ninety Mile Beach. See the meeting of the Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean. Return to the Bay of Islands early evening. A picnic lunch is included today.
Day 3. Wednesday. BAY OF ISLANDS - AUCKLAND (B)
Morning cruise around the Bay of Islands and through the ‘Hole in the Rock’ - weather permitting.
Cruise past the islands and into secluded bays and stopover at Urupukapuka Island. Often dolphins are to be seen during the cruise. Disembark at historic Russell for a tour of the town including Flagstaff Hill.
Return to Auckland early evening.

Tour cost includes:
** All travel by mini or midi coach (minimum 2 - maximum 16 passengers) On day 1 travel is always in our vehicle with our driver/guide. Travel on day 2 is by special coach suitable for beach running. Return to Auckland on day 3 will be with our vehicle for a minimum of 4. If less than 4 are travelling return will be with another operator, usually in a big bus.

STAY LONGER.
We do recommend an extra night or two in the Bay of Islands to enjoy all that it has to offer. This will provide a more relaxed time in Russell and gives you the option of takin the historic 'Cream cruise', R Tucker Thomson tall ship cruise, and/or swim with the dolphin cruise either instead of, or as well as the most popular Cape Brett cruise we include. Return to Auckland will normally by scheduled coach from paihia wharf terminating in Downtown Auckland.

OVERNIGHT CRUISE - "m.v. Ipipiri"
From 1st September 2011 to 31st May, 2012 the m.v. Ipipiri sails at 1pm returning the following day at 10am. Enjoy a relaxed overnight cruise through the sheltered waters of the Bay of Islands anchoring overnight in a secluded bay. Enjoy the views from your Ocean view cabin with private en suite or extensive open decks, and the commentary covering the history, wildlife, and ecology of the Bay of Islands. Dinner and breakfast are included. Your overnight cruise can be taken wednesday night in place of your Cape Brett cruise or added afterwards.
