Located in Victoria Street just 2 minutes walk from Queen St, 1 minute from a Countdown supermarket, 3 minutes from Skytower and the entertainment precinct, and 5 minutes from the waterfront, the President offers great value for money, 120 air conditioned rooms including standard studios, 1 bedroom suites, and 2 bedroom family units. A restaurant is open for breakfast in the hotel and there are many eating options nearby.
AUCKLAND SCENIC HOTEL - 4 star - the Auckland Scenic Hotel offers superb value for money. Each room has a kitchenette with Microwave oven and many have full kitchen facilities, Sky TV, Minibar , tea and coffee facilities, telephone, high speed internet access, iron and ironing board, shower and toilet. The hotel is located on Queen St adjacent to the Aotea Centre, Civic Theatre, and cinema centre in the entertainment precinct. It is a few minutes walk from Albert Park, Library, Art Gallery, Auckland University, AUT and the Skytower. The Airbus service to the airport stops at the door (a few minutes walk away inbound) and it is a 10 minute stroll down Queen St to the waterfront. An excellent value cafe is situated in the hotel and there are dozens of eating places in the area.

City Life hotel is located at 171 Queen st in the heart of the Central City with its shops, restaurants, cinemas, cafes, and food courts, and 5 minutes walk to Queens Wharf and Viaduct Harbour. Queen St is served by the Airbus and inner city loop bus to Viaduct Harbour and Karangahape Road.

Includes Arataki Waitakere Ranges visitor centre, guided walk in the rainforest, a cascading waterfall (optional swim), a stroll on the black sands of the rugged windswept wilderness West Coast beach, and a visit to 1000 year old kauri trees.
(2) KAURI MUSEUM AND FOREST AND BAY OF ISLANDS. One day tour
Departs Auckland every Monday, Wednesday, Friday year round for minimum of 2 passengers. Other days for minimum of 4
Depart Auckland 7.30am. Drive north over the harbour Bridge and along the Hibiscus Coast to the Otamatea Kauri and Early Settlers Museum, one of the best little museums in New Zealand. Learn of the importance of the kauri tree to the development of Northland and see the lifestyle of the early settlers.
Continue through Ruawai 'kumara capital' of New Zealand, and Dargaville into the Waipoua kauri forest. Visit "Tane Mahuta" giant kauri tree - some 2000 years old. Enjoy our included fish, chips, and salad lunch (vegetarian options available) overlooking the Hokianga Harbour and sand dunes before arriving in the Bay of Islands.
Visit the Waitangi Treaty House where the Treaty of Waitangi between Maori and the British Government was signed in 1840. Enjoy a tour with a local guide and see the giant war canoe. Return to Auckland mid evening.

(3) BAY OF ISLANDS day tour 7.30am - 8.10pm $297 Departs Daily Including Waitangi Treaty House and cruise on the Bay of Islands including Cape Brett and the 'Hole in the Rock' - weather permitting 7.30am - 8pm. $283. Departs Daily. This tour will usually be with Great Sights in a big bus.

Two of New Zealand's iconic attractions in one great day out. Includes Waitomo Caves, Rotorua lakefront and gardens, Farm tour and shearing demonstration, Maori Concert, Whakarewarewa thermal area to see the steaming geysers, boiling mud, and kiwi house.
(6) COROMANDEL PENINSULA. One day tour. Departs Daily 7am - 7pm. $385. (Minimum 2 people)
Drive south over the Bombay Hills and across the Hauraki Plains to the old gold mining city of Thames. Visit a bird hide on the coast and take a coffee break. Continue along the Pohutukawa Coast to the town of Coromandel for lunch before enjoying the unique Driving Creek Railway built by local potter and rail enthusiast, Barry Brickell. Ride the train through regenerating native forest up the hills to ther "Eyefull Tower" for a panoramic view over the Peninsula and Hauraki Gulf. After returning to base and visiting the pottery we drive across the Peninsula to the charming seaside resort of Whitianga. Continue to Cathedral Cove (1.5 hours walk - a reasonable level of fitness and good shoes are required)) and Hotwater Beach where for 2 hours either side of low tide you can dig your own thermal bath in the sand!

(7) GREAT TASTES OF MATAKANA 9.30am - 4.30pm Departs Daily A feast of art, wine, honey, local cuisine,.and chocolates! Cross the Narbour Brfdige and leave the urban boundaries behind to the Matakana District. Visit the Honey centre, enjoy wine tasting at 2 wineries, wander along the celebrated Brick Bay Sculpture Trail before enjoying lunch from locally sourced produce. Top it all off with chocolate tasting and tea and coffee before returning to your accommodation.
