Please join us on this unique experience circumnavigating the coasts of North, South, and Stewart Islands on our privately chartered Metroliner (maximum 12 passengers) or Saab (maximum 20 window seat passengers). Every seat a window seat and we will fly at scenic level as much as possible where safety and weather permits. Great overnight stopovers and ground sightseeing included. See places you will never see from the ground or commercial jet, and gain a new appreciation of our magnificently beautiful country.

 

Day 1.  Monday.    AUCKLAND - CAPE REINGA - BAY OF ISLANDS.  (LD)

10.30am Depart Auckland and fly up the West Coast including Kaipara Harbour and Ninety Mile Beach. Circle Cape Reinga then down the East Coast to Kerikeri for an overnight stop in the Bay of Islands, and dinner at the Duke of Marlborough Hotel.

Day 2. Tuesday. BAY OF ISLANDS -  NAPIER - BLENHEIM      (BLD)  

Continue down the East Coast including Great Barrier Island, Coromandel Peninsula, White Island, East Cape, and Gisborne. Land at Napier for lunch and tour then on down the coast past Castlepoint, Cape Palliser, Wellington, and Marlborough Sounds to Blenheim for the night.

Day 3. Wednesday. BLENHEIM - CHRISTCHURCH - DUNEDIN. (BLD) 

Visit Peter Jacksons Aviation Museum at Omaka, and a winery before continuing down the East Coast over Kaikoura, Christchurch, and Banks Peninsula to the Otago Peninsula and land at Dunedin. One night at Larnachs Castle.

Day 4. Thursday. DUNEDIN - SOUTH COAST - CATLINS - STEWART ISLAND - FIORDLAND - TE ANAU. (BLD)  

Continue along the southern coast over the Catlins and Nugget Point lighthouse, Bluff, Stewart Island, and loiter (weather permitting) over Fiordland to appreciate the size and beauty of this area. See Puysegur Point, Preservation, Dusky, and Doubtful Sounds (weather permitting) before landing at Te Anau.

Day 5. Friday. DOUBTFUL SOUND OVERNIGHT CRUISE  (BLD)

 Cruise across Lake Manapouri and drive over Wilmot Pass to join “Fiordland Navigator” for our overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound. Kayak or cruise and appreciate the beauty of nature close up.

Day 6. Saturday. MANAPOURI - MILFORD - WEST COAST - MT COOK - CAPE FAREWELL - NELSON.    (BLD)

Return to Manapouri to rejoin our aircraft for the flight up the West Coast over Milford Sound Jacksons Bay, glaciers, a circuit of Mt Cook then on to Farewell Spit and the Abel Tasman National Park. Overnight Nelson.

Day 7. Sunday. NELSON - TARANAKI - KAWHIA - AUCKLAND   (BL)

Free time this morning and depart early afternoon. Fly over D'urville Island, Kapiti Island, and follow the coast to Cape Egmont and on over New Plymouth, Kawhia, and Raglan returning to Auckland Airport about 3pm.

Tour cost includes:

** Home pickup and return between Orewa and Papakura

** A window seat on your chartered flight from Auckland back to Auckland.

** 5 nights accommodation and breakfast at 4 star hotel or private lodges including 1 night at Larnachs Castle.

** 1 night aboard “Fiordland Navigator” in double rooms with en suite

** 6 dinners and breakfasts and 5 lunches.

** Sightseeing in Kerikeri, Russell, Napier, Blenheim Aviation Museum and winery, Larnachs Castle, Nelson.

Deposit and payment.  

A deposit of $1000 per person is required within 7 days of making your reservation and the balance 1 month prior to departure. Should we have to cancel the tour through covid lockdown a full refund is made. 

Please Note:

Your safety and comfort are paramount. We cannot guarantee you will see all points in the itinerary. The flight path will be carefully chosen to maximise sightseeing within the prevailing weather.

A minimum of 10 passengers are required to operate this tour. If we do not have this 1 month of departure with great regret we will have to cancel the tour. You will of course get a full refund of your deposit

 

Aircraft 

Metroliner. A fast (cruising 450 km per hour), and comfortable turboprop pressurised aircraft usually operated with two pilots and 18 seats. For our purposes we are reducing seating to 12 to make sure everyone is sitting beside a window.  Seats will be allocated  and rotated each day to ensure everyone gets a chance at front, middle, and rear seats. Juice and cookie snack will be provided in flight by your tour host. There is no toilet on board.

 

Saab 340.  For more than 12 passengers we will upgrade to a SAAB 340 twin engine pressurised aircraft widely used in New Zealand and around the world. The aircraft is operated with 2 pilots and 1 flight attendant and travels at 470 km per hour. The aircraft has a toilet.

The aircraft seats 34 passengers in normal service in  a two-one configuration (see picture above). We guarantee everyone paying full fare a window seat and will limit full fare passenger numbers to 22 HOWEVER for those who are prepared to sit together and share a window we are offering a COMPANION FARE of $7,500 and we leave you to sort your window time.          

Seats will be allocated and rotated each day so that everyone gets to experience front, middle, and rear seats. Tea, coffee, and snacks will be served on each flight.
