Following our successful tour to Norfolk Island in March, 2024 I am delighted to offer the opportunity for individuals (minimum 2) to visit and experience it for yourself with weekly departures every thursday from 29 August. Discover the unique history and pride of the descendants of the Bounty Mutineers shipped from Pitcairn Island in 1856 when Norfolk Island was gifted to them by Queen Victoria, and the horrendous history of Norfolk as a penal colony.
Thursday. AUCKLAND – NORFOLK ISLAND. (L)
10.30am. Depart Auckland aboard Air Chathams flight
12.15pm. Arrive Norfolk Island and transfer to your accommodation at Governors Lodge
Accommodation is in individual one bedroom private cabins set among extensive gardens
The afternoon is free to relax and explore at your leisure. The Lodge is 10 minutes walk to the main shopping centre on Norfolk
Friday. NORFOLK ISLAND – Tour of introduction (B)
Our Introductory half day tour gives an overview of the key historic areas of Norfolk Island including Kingston, Cascade and Longridge. See the most famous convict buildings and take in the most scenic views of the beaches and gardens from the lookouts and learn of the modern lifestyle and laws of Norfolk, plus see the historic Melanesian chapel.
Free afternoon to relax in the swimming pool or visit the excellent Norfolk Museum, and/or Bounty diorama - admissions extra.
Evening. Optional NIGHT AS A CONVICT! Revelry and history at a Convict Dinner. Dress up in a replica convict suit, and join the commandant for a night of fun and laughter and and a great dinner. (Includes some bawdy humour – you have been warned!) – extra cost $100
Saturday. NORFOLK ISLAND. (B)
Free morning to relax or shop.
Convict Settlement tour. This afternoon we take a guided tour of the Convict settlement, a most infamous time in Norfolk History. The whole settlement is a World Heritage site and is a living showcase of Polynesian, convict, and Pitcairn Islander history. This evening enjoy the Wonderland by Night tour in 10 acres of Norfolk Pines lit up like an enchanted forest. Stroll among the trees (or ride a moon buggy) and listen to the poems and stories and see the dioramas from the past.
Sunday. NORFOLK ISLAND (B)
Sunday morning is market day for local arts and crafts and the time is free to see, explore, and buy.
Optional Murder Mystery tour with 3 course dinner. Meet the Commandant, Clergyman, and convicts and figure who dunnit. Cost $100
Monday. NORFOLK ISLAND (BD)
This morning enjoy a Greenfinger tour exploring the islands gardens and unique flora and fauna including morning tea in a garden.
This evening enjoy a Progressive 3 course dinner at 3 different family homes. Learn their story and ask your questions.
Tuesday. NORFOLK ISLAND (BD)
The day is free to relax or explore at your leisure.
This evening enjoy the famous Island Fish Fry dinner including local fish, salads, and coconut bread and pie and be entertained by a local dance group as you watch the sunset in the west! We then progress to the Sound and Light show at the convict settlement and relive the history through real-life sounds, theatrical lighting, and costumed actors.
Wednesday. NORFOLK ISLAND ( B)
Free day to relax or explore at your leisure. Rental cars and bicycles are available.
Thursday. NORFOLK ISLAND – AUCKLAND (B)
Free morning. Check out at 10am and transfer to the airport
1pm. Depart Norfolk Island with Air Chathams.
4.45pm. Arrive Auckland

We do recommend hiring a rental car for 2 days to give you freedom to explore the island at your leisure. Approximate cost $AUD70-$80 per day. Unlimited km included.

Tours cancelled up to 3 months prior to travel forfeit the deposit
Tours cancelled 3 months - 6 weeks prior to travel forfeit 75% of tour fare
Tours cancelled under 6 weeks prior to departure forfeit 100%
We do recommend travel insurance covering cancellation fees, baggage loss, and any medical expenses.
