DISCOVER FRENCH POLYNESIA. (RAROTONGA add on available).

DREAMS OF TAHITI - 2 nights hotel and breakfast in Papeete before your cruise and 1 night in Rarotonga at the end, plus 7 night 'Star Breeze" cruise including MOOREA, RAIATEA, TAHAA, BORA BORA, HUAHINE in the wake of Kupe, and Captains Cook and Bligh but in much greater comfort. Discover the history of Tupaia who accompanied Captain Cook on his first visit to New Zealand.

Day 1. Wednesday/Tuesday   AUCKLAND - PAPEETE

Depart Auckland 7.35pm  aboard Air New Zealand flight. Cross the dateline and arrive Papeete 2.25am wednesday again.  We will be transferred to our accommodation.

Day 2. Wednesday   (again).     PAPEETE     (B)

Free day to relax by the swimming pool or explore the town of Papeete

Day 3. Thursday.               PAPEETE DEPART         (BD) 

We leave the hotel at 10am for our four hour tour including remote villages and beaches. Also the site from where Captain Cook observed the transit of Venus and the Marae from which Tupaia joined Captain Cook on his voyage to New Zealand before arriving at "Star Breeze" mid afternoon. Settle in and sail at 6pm. Enjoy your first dinner as we cruise towards Moorea.                                                                                                                      

Day 4. Friday.                        MOOREA                        (BLD)  

Arrive Moorea 8am and sail at 5pm. Optional tours available - extra expense. Take a photography tour with a professional photographer, hike the majestic Three Coconut Trail. Visit dolphins in their natural habitat or enjoy swimming and/or kayaking from the "Star Breeze" watersports platform.

Day 5. Saturday.                      RAIATEA                    (BLD)      

Arrive 8am - Sail 6am sunday. Full day to explore  Raiatea known as the sacred island and renowned as the first island settled in French Polynesia over 1,000 years ago and from which Maori started their migration to New Zealand some 800 years ago.    Optional tour covering the mountains, villages and history, including Taputapuatea, the first royal marae of Polynesia, reputed to be the starting point for migration to New Zealand.

Day 6. Sunday.    MOTU MAHAEA      (TAHAA)        (BLD)  

Arrive 8am - sail 5pm    A short cruise across the lagoon brings you to Tahaa where you will spend the day on a private island complete with white sand beaches and swaying palm trees. Enjoy a barbecue lunch and tropical drinks ashore. Optional tour of the Vanilla Plantations and sacred sites of the island. 

Day 7. Monday.        BORA BORA                               (BLD)   

Arrive 9.00am. Sail 9pm tuesday.  Two full days to enjoy one of the most beautiful and most photographed islands in the world. Optional tours ashore and time to swim and snorkel or explore some of the tiny islands in the lagoon.                    

Day 8. Tuesday.      BORA BORA                              (BLD) 

Explore the island further or relax on board and admire the magnificent spectacle of the island. Full use of water sports equipment available. Sail at 9pm. 

Day 9.  Wednesday.      HUAHINE                                  (BLD)  

Arrive 7am - sail 5pm  Optional tour of the volcanic "Garden of Eden" including the tortured landscapes, lush forests, villages, ancient temples, and sacred lake of the ancient wizard kings. 

Day 10. Thursday.         TAHITI ARRIVE.  (B)    

Arrive Papeete, Disembark and transfer to your hotel

Day 11. Friday.               TAHITI TOUR

Half day circle island tour including Point Venus where Captain Cook observed the transit of Venus, Faarumai waterfalls, Arahoho blowhole, and the Arahurahu marae, best preserved on the island. 

Day 12. Saturday/Sunday.         TAHITI - AUCKLAND    (B)

Transfer to the airport and depart for Auckland arriving early sunday afternoon 

 

RAROTONGA EXTENSION.

Saturday. Transfer to the airport and fly to Rarotonga. Transfer to your hotel. You are welcome to stay as many nights as you like.

Package including air to Rarotonga, 1 night at Edgewater or Sanctuary hotels with breakfast with free day in Rarotonga and depart late sunday night with Jetstar arriving Auckland just after midnight monday night. Extra cst just $700 per person share twin $950 single.

Day 11. Sunday/Tuesday          RAROTONGA - AUCKLAND          (B)

The day is free to explore Rarotonga at your leisure or relax at your hotel in the swimming pool or lagoon. Check out time is 11am.

Transfer to the airport . Depart Rarotonga 10.05pm sunday with Jetstar. Cross the dateline and arrive Auckland at 00.40 early tuesday morning.

You are welcome to stayover in Rarotonga if you wish and/or return with Air New Zealand or Jetstar. Prices will vary.
