Departs Daily except sundays and Christmas Day
Flexible times - total time from Auckland approximately 5  hours  (Hobbit buffet lunch only available with departures 9am  - 10.30am. A hearty steak or venison  lunch (vegetarian options) available at the Shires Rest for later departures

Cruise ship passengers: Depart the cruise terminal at 8.30am returning by 3.00pm.

** Transfer from your inner city accommodation or cruise terminal to the helicopter base 

** Take off from downtown Auckland and cruise above the city, Bombay Hills, and fertile Waikato farmlands. See Auckland City, Waikato River, and the Hobbiton Movie set from the air.

** Land at the Shires Rest to be met by your guide for a tour of the Movie Set before returning to Auckland.

Squirrel AS355 (twin engine)

The Squirrel is a roomy and comfortable helicopter accomodating up to 5 passengers and is the mainstay of many tourist operations. Surcharge applies   

EC120

This Eurocopter/Airbus helicopter is a single turbine engine usually used for up to 4 passengers and offers superb visibility, spacious cabin, and ample leg room. 

EC130   

This Eurocopter/Airbus helicopter features forward facing seating, low vibration levels, and unobstructed views. Comfortably seats 6 passengers and is the mainstay of commercial VIP charters.
