8.00am. Depart Auckland . Enjoy the scenic drive with your driver/guide to the Shires Rest to be joined by your local guide for the 2 hour tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set. Drive through part of the 500 hectare (1,250 acre) sheep and cattle farm to the Hobbiton Movie Set, centre of Middle Earth. learn from your local guide how the set was created and see the Hobbit Holes, Gardens, Bag End (Bilbo and Frodo Baggins home), Party Tree, Lake, The Mill, Green Dragon Inn, and much more. On arrival at the Green Dragon Inn one cold drink awaits - your choice of dark or light beer, cider, or non alcoholic ginger ale.  

Enjoy a buffet lunch fit for Hobbits, where seconds are encouraged, in the Party Marquee adjacent to the Green Dragon Inn. 

Continue to the Waitomo glwoworm cave for a 45 minute gudied tour through the main limestone cave amid the stalactites and stalagmites and a short cruise in th magical glowworm gotto. 

Sit back and relax during the 2.5 hour drive back to Auckland arriving about 7pm.  
OPTION TO TRANSFER COACHES AT WAITOMO AND TRAVEL TO ROTORUA, CENTRE OF OUR THERMAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITY ARRIVING ABOUT 6pm.
