Auckland is New Zealand's largest and most vibrant city built around 2 harbours and bounded by the Tasman Sea and Hauraki Gulf. Explore the city, enjoy a panoramic view from Skytower, cruise the harbour, relax in the parks, take a stroll on the beaches, rainforests, and countryside, take in a show, enjoy the museum Art Gallery, Zoo, Museum of Transport and Technology, and at the end of the day enjoy one of the hundreds of restaurants and cafes.
Day 1. ARRIVE AUCKLAND
Arrive Auckland by train, plane, or cruise and you will be met and transferred to your accommodation which is usually at the Heritage Hotel 2 minutes walk from Skytower and Intercity and Auckland Explorer bus depots, 3 minutes walk from Queen St, and 5 minutes to Britomart, Ferry Building, and Viaduct Harbour.
Days 2 - 4 AUCKLAND (B)
3 days to enjoy the best that Auckland has to offer. During this time you have included:
1. TICKET TO SKYTOWER FOR A PANORAMIC VIEW OVER THE CITY.
2. AUCKLAND CITY AND WAITAKERE MOUNTAINS.
Join a small group tour with experienced local guide discovering Auckland's history and volcanic legacy including city areas, Domain, Harbour Bridge, Devonport including Mt Victoria and Westhaven Marina. This afternoon head to the wild west coast beaches and lush rainforest. Visit the Arataki interpretation centre with stunning views of 2 harbours, walk on the soft black sand beach, stroll through the rainforest on an easy path to see native palms, giant ferns, and kauri trees. Return to your hotel about 5.30pm.
3. AUCKLAND EXPLORER 2 day Hop on Hop off PASS
Explorer buses depart every 30 minutes from 9am to 5pm with 15 stops at Weta Workshop Unleashed, All Blacks Experience, Art Gallery, Newmarket shopping, Auckland Museum, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Parnell Village, Bastion Point (easy access to Mission Bay), Sea Life Kelly Tarltons, Mt Eden, Eden Park, Auckland Zoo and Motat (Museum of Transport and Technolgy and aviation heritage centre).
4. WAIHEKE ISLAND full day cruise (40 minutes each way) and Explorer Hop on Hop Off Pass to discover the beaches, wineries (only 20 to choose from!), shops, cafes, and craft centres. Bus operates at least hourly from 9am to 7pm
Day 5. AUCKLAND DEPART. (B)
You will be transferred to the airport or rail station for departure.

(5) Whale and Dolphin wildlife cruise. Operates daily except monday and tuesday. Includes scenic cruising of Aucklands amazing Islands with 2.5 hours devoted to marine mammals. $209
(6) Explore Tiritiri Matangi Island. Enjoy a scenic 80 minute cruise on the Huaraki Giulf to the nature sanctuary of Tiritiri Matangi. Optional guided walk or self explore. Discover regenerating native forest and see endangered birds including Kokako, Takahe, Tieke and there are usually penguins in the nesting boxes. See also the oldest working lighthouse in New Zealand. Time to swim of you wish.
(7) Harbour sailing. Join a 50 foot sailing yacht and cruise the hartbour with commentary - $99. Departs daily 3.15pm - 4.45pm. Harbour Dinner cruise $150 October - April or try your hand at sailing an authentic Americas cup race yacht (sorry no foils). $195. 11am and 2pm returns 2hours later November to March.
(8) Auckland by Helicopter. 15 minutes including Auckland City, Skytower, Harbour Bridge, Eastern Beaches and Hauraki Gulf, Summit view of Rangitoto island $199. 25 minutes includes all the above plus Waiheke Island $369.
